Amish Marketplace

Book One

Christiana Kurtz is thrilled to open a bake shop in a local market. It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve even more of the delicious desserts she’s become well-known for baking.

Jeff Stoltzfus sells wood and leather goods in the shop beside Christiana. The pretty baker catches his eye but he’s still trying to grow beyond a prior relationship, that his fiancé had ended. She’s married now. Jeff won’t allow himself to be hurt like that again.

Friends and family notice the spark between them, but Christiana’s father may be the biggest hurdle of all.

The Amish romance is light-hearted and easy to read. Readers of this genre will enjoy the book!

A Love for Lizzie by Tracey J. Lyons

When Lizzie Miller’s father had a heart attack, her neighbor was there to escort her to the hospital even though, as Amish, they didn’t drive cars. Yet Paul Burkholder wants to be more the just a friend.

Marrying Lizzie isn’t Paul’s only dream. He wants his own furniture business in town. Lizzie avoids strangers because an injury from a terrible accident that claimed her brother’s life left more than an emotional scar.

She hides her scarred face from stares of strangers. She pushes Paul away because she knows no man will ever want to marry her.

They both carry guilt from the long-ago accident. They’ll need each other’s strength to recover.

I enjoyed this Amish romance. It’s the author’s debut romance.

Mattie’s Pledge by Jan Drexler

This novel took me on a journey into the 1840s.

Mattie Schock’s family is traveling with several other Amish family from Brothers Valley, Pennsylvania, to Indiana. She hasn’t seen Jacob Yoder since they were children and looks forward to getting to know him again.

Jacob never forgot Mattie and their friendship deepens. He soon begins to dream of her as his wife on the new farm he will build in Indiana.

Mattie dreams of settling further west and fears she’d be bored living in one location for the rest of her life. The Englishman who keeps turning up at odd places promises her new adventures in Oregon. He’s exciting and dangerous.

But the danger is more real than Mattie realizes.

I love novels that transport me to another time and place. This story did that for me. I enjoyed this story.

A Little Bit of Charm (The New Beginnings Series)

This story of Rachel, an Amish woman, quickly captured my attention. I love novels where I can learn new things as a natural part of the story and now have a greater appreciation for the Amish way of life and the work involved in horse stables.

A forbidden interest in a Baptist thoroughbred owner doesn’t stop Rachel’s heart from complicating the matter. A wonderful story with lovable, believable characters!
